Wyeast 1056 that is…
So I’m having a bit of a brewing extravaganza with my new equipment. 2 weeks ago I brewed an American Pale Ale with 2 lbs of Rye substituted in for 2-row. For this I used the ubiquitous Wyeast 1056 (chico) yeast. This last weekend I had a free Sunday afternoon and realized that I could rack the APA into a keg for secondary, then throw a new batch on top of the yeast cake. So an American Amber it was! And now I just ordered some ingredients needed to brew an Irish Red this next weekend, on top of the same yeast cake. I may have to do a barleywine after that, as there will be enough yeast built up!
