Since I work in IT I have a lot of coworkers who are Indian. We had a light-hearted discussion this morning when someone used the word ‘prepone’ and I explained that this is not a word. This wasn’t the first time I had heard it used however, and came to discover that there is a whole subset of Indian English that has evolved on the sub-continent. I think my favorite of these words so far is ‘updation’ which I have seen in emails several times… you know, insertion, deletion, updation.
