Mobile Digital Room Correction (DRC) Project

Update - 1/23/2009

The hardware has arrived! Now we’ll see how long it takes for me to get it running… :)

Here is a writeup of what I chose to get: http://www.burnpc.com/audio/mobile-digital-room-correction-drc-project/mobile-drc-hardware-final-choice/

As I spec out the system I’ll be documenting it here.

Requirements:

  • can survive in trunk of the car (boot to others)
  • compact flash rather than regular hard drive will be immune to jolts from driving
  • complete system needs to run in RAM only with no swap
  • linux
  • fast boot time
  • PCI slot to house M-Audio Revolution 7.1 sound card
  • PC-Card / PCMCIA to be used for wifi (already have 300mw card)

The Jetway boards are configurable via add-on daughter cards. This gives me everything I need:
